Cigna Supports Local Rehabilitation Center During Recent International Human Resources Leadership Meeting in Shanghai
In mid-May over 50 Cigna HR leaders, accompanied by Shanghai Bo’ai Children’s Rehabilitation Center founder, Ms. Gao Yali, participated in creating colorful and inspirational Chinese Kites to be donated to the children staying at the center. A master kite builder was hired to help the HR team build and decorate 25 kites for the children currently in rehabilitation.

In addition to the kites, Cigna donated $10,000 to the center to help Ms. Gao Yali and her team continue their impactful work. The donation marked a significant milestone in the Center’s 17 year history, since it was one of the first corporate donations they had received.

The Bo’ai Children’s Rehabilitation Center was founded by Gao Yali in 1996 after her son was diagnosed with Down syndrome. The Center is located in the Xuhui District of Shanghai, is the first private non-profit organization that provides both physical rehabilitation and education for children ages 12 and younger who have severe cerebral palsy, autism and Down syndrome.
