The PRC’s Ministry of Health classifies them into three categories (Tier 3, Tier 2 and Tier 1) and three subcategories (Class A, Class B and Class C), among which Tier 3 and Class A represents for the highest level of medical care and outcome. There are approximately 700 hospitals with Tier 3 and Class A level in mainland China. |

Currently only the VIP departments or international departments of public facilities will cooperate with commercial insurance companies in China to offer a direct billing service. All the public facilities in Cigna & CMB’s provider direct billing network are Tier 3 and Class A level hospitals. |

Unfortunately owing to restrictions made by public hospitals, the direct billing service is only available to our covered members where the medical plan does not have a co-insurance/co-pay or deductible. If your plan requires coinsurance or/and deductibles, please pay the expense first and submit the claim to Cigna & CMB for reimbursement; or you can contact the in-house representatives in some specific public hospitals in Beijing and Shanghai. |
